Dear Korean Studies,

Please encourage recent Ph.D. recipients of modern and contemporary studies
on Korea to teach at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

*Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in Korean Studies*: Lewis & Clark College, a
private liberal arts college with 2,200 undergraduates, invites
applications for a two-year teaching postdoctoral position in the Asian
Studies Program, beginning fall of 2022. The teaching field is modern and
contemporary Korea. Examples of specializations include, but are not
limited to international relations, environmental studies, political
economy, popular culture, and art history. Fellows teach three courses per
year in the fellow’s area of expertise. Lewis & Clark has a welldeveloped
mentorship program for junior faculty. This is a unique opportunity for a
recent Ph.D. to develop as a teacher and scholar. Ph.D. required at the
time of appointment.

A complete application must include: (1) a cover letter that includes
statements of research interests and teaching experience, teaching
philosophy, and a description of how the applicant’s teaching will
contribute to a culture of inclusion and campus diversity; (2) a curriculum
vitae; (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness; (4) official graduate
transcripts; (5) three letters of recommendation (uploaded separately by
the referees). All materials should be addressed to Director David Campion,
Asian Studies Postdoctoral Committee, and must be submitted via

Interfolio. Click “Apply” to create your free account. Review of
applications will begin on *February 15, 2022*, and continue until the
position is filled.

Lewis & Clark College will conduct background checks on the finalist. Lewis
