Applications are currently open for Fulbright U.S. Scholar and Fulbright U.S. Student awards, with application deadlines coming up this fall.

Awards to Korea are available in all the below categories (including new awards in STEM!):

If you are a U.S. citizen interested in studying, teaching, conducting research, or conducting a professional project in Korea, we highly recommend looking at the range of opportunities available through the Fulbright Program!

While all Fulbright programs are significant, we would like to particularly announce NEW awards available to those in the STEM disciplines through the U.S.-Korea Presidential STEM Initiative.

In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the alliance between the United States of America and the Republic of Korea, Presidents Biden and Yoon announced in April 2023 the establishment of a new educational exchange initiative amounting to $60 million, funded jointly, that aims to serve 2,023 Koreans and 2,023 Americans. Per the leaders' joint statement<https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/04/26/leaders-joint-statement-in-commemoration-of-the-70th-anniversary-of-the-alliance-between-the-united-states-of-america-and-the-republic-of-korea/> from April 26, 2023, the initiative includes 200 grantees under the Fulbright scholarship program, making it the largest number of grantees selected for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in Fulbright's history.
