Deadline for Call for Papers (SoKEN) is extended to 15 March 2023.

Call for Papers:
The 6th Social Sciences Korean Studies European Network (SoKEN) on “Korean Youth Abroad”, GOETHE UNIVERSITY OF FRANKFURT, GERMANY, 10-11 NOVEMBER 2023
Goethe University of Frankfurt will host the 2023 SoKEN Conference on “Korean Youth Abroad”. The main topics include:

  *   Second generation Korean diaspora (identity, integration, consumption of Hallyu, return visits)
  *   Young Korean skilled experts abroad (education credentials, deskilling)
  *   Pre-college and college Korean students abroad (education migration and mobility, transnational family)
  *   Working holiday makers, volunteers, and tourists (nexus between tourism and migration)
  *   Any other type of Korean youth temporary migrants (migration as a process)
  *   Papers on other issues on Korean youth abroad will also be considered.
Presenters will be provided with meals and accommodation for two nights in Frankfurt.

Key Dates:

  *   Deadline for abstract (400 words) and biography of the author (150 words): 15 March 2023
  *   Result notification: 10 April 2023
  *   Deadline for full paper (maximum 8,000 words): 30 September 2023.

Publication:
Excellent papers will be published either in an edited volume or in a special issue in a journal after the conference. We encourage the participation of PhD candidates and early career scholars in and beyond Europe.
