Call for Applications: 2023 AKS Hanmun Fellowship (Advanced course)
 
 

The Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is pleased to announce the “AKS Hanmun (Classical Chinese) Fellowship.” 
As an important part of our mission is to nurture researchers, who will contribute to the development and globalization of Korean studies,
the academy has organized the “2023 AKS Hanmun (Classical Chinese) Fellowship” for international scholars in Korean studies.
Those who are interested in the following programs held by the AKS, which is the global hub sharing Korean studies with the world, are very welcome to apply.
 
1. Programs : Lectures, recitations, researches, and on-site tours (conducted in Korean)
 
2. Program Period
  - 8th(Advanced Course) : September 1 – December 21, 2023
 
3. Venue : The Academy of Korean Studies
 
4. Eligibility
- Undergraduates students, master's and doctoral degree students majoring in Korean Studies 
     at overseas university(including candidates of master's or doctoral degrees)
  - Korean nationals and graduates are ineligible for this program.
※ Advanced Korean language skills are required, as the program will be conducted in Korean.
※ Must have completed a basic Hanmun course to take the Advanced Course
 
5. Required Documents

  - Application form (download the attached file)
  - Certificate of enrollment (or completion)
  - One letter of reference
   ※ Written by the applicant's academic adviser as to why the applicant needs knowledge of Chinese characters.
  - Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) score report (if you have taken)
  - A copy of transcript or certificate that can prove the applicant’s completion of a Hanmun course 
    at his/her university (or from other programs) 
     OR
    AKS Hanmun Fellowship Certificate of Completion 
  ※ All documents should be written in Korean or English. If not, attach a Korean or English translation of documents that are 
     notarized. 
 
6. Application Period : March 22 – April 2, 2023
 
7. Application Method : Online application is available on the AKS homepage
 
8. Notification of the Acceptance : The result will be announced individually via e-mail on April 20, 2023.
 
9. Support
  - Round-trip airfare (economy class) and support for living expenses (one million KRW per month)
  - Accommodations (guesthouse located at the Academy of Korea Studies compound)
  - Accident Insurance 
 
10. Others
  - Submit a study report until fifteen days before the end of the fellowship period.
  - Support will not be provided to applicants who receive funds from other sources.

2023년 한국학중앙연구원 한문 연수 펠로십(심화반) 모집
 
한국학중앙연구원에서는 해외 차세대 한국학자들의 한문역량 제고를 통한 한국학 연구의 균형적 발전을 도모하고자 한문 연수 펠로십을 운영하고 있습니다. 
2023년 한국학의 본산인 한국학중앙연구원에서 한문 프로그램을 수강할 참가자를 모집하오니 관심 있는 분들의 많은 지원 바랍니다.
 
▣ AKS 한문 연수 펠로십(AKS Hanmun Fellowship)
 
1. 내 용: 한문 강좌, 암송, 자유 연구, 답사 등(한국어로 진행)
 
2. 운영기간
- 제8회(심화반): 2023. 9. 1.(금) ~ 12. 21.(목)
 
3. 장 소: 한국학중앙연구원
 
4. 지원자격: 해외 대학(원)에서 한국학을 전공하는 학부생 및 석·박사 과정생(한국 국적자 제외, 수료생 가능, 졸업생 불가능)
※ 한국어로 진행되므로 참가자의 수준 높은 한국어 실력이 요구됨.
※ 심화반의 경우 기본적인 한문 교육 이수 필수
 
5. 제출서류
- 소정양식 지원서 1부: 첨부파일 다운로드
- 재학(또는 수료)증명서 1부
- 추천서 1부(한문이 학업에 필요한 이유를 기재한 지도교수 추천서)
- 한국어능력시험(TOPIK)에 응시한 적이 있는 경우 해당 성적표 사본 1부
- 대학(또는 기타 프로그램)에서의 한문 수업 이수를 확인할 수 있는 성적증명서 또는 수료증 / AKS 한문 연수 펠로십 수료증 중 택 1
※ 모든 서류는 한국어 또는 영어로 제출해야 하며, 그렇지 않을 경우 한국어 또는 영어로 공증 받은 번역본을 반드시 첨부하여야 함.
 
6. 접수기간: 2023. 03. 22.(수) ~ 2023. 04. 02.(일)
 
7. 접수방법: 한국학중앙연구원 홈페이지를 통한 온라인 지원
 
8. 결과통보: 2023. 04. 20.(목) 예정 (개별 이메일 통보)
 
9. 지원사항
- 왕복항공료(이코노미 기준) 및 월 체제비(100만원) 지급
- 원내 게스트하우스 무료 제공
- 상해보험 가입 
 
10. 기타사항
- 연수 기간 종료 15일 전까지 결과보고서 제출
- 타 기관에서 지원금을 받는 경우 지원비 중복 수령 불가
