About the Speaker: Jaeyoung Ha is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of
History at UC San Diego. Ha is currently working on his dissertation,
"Frontier Above the Clouds: Trans-Pacific Development, Rehabilitation, and
Colonization of South Korean Mountains, 1945-1972." In this project, Ha
investigates mining, reforestation, road and dam construction, and national
park projects in the South Korean highlands as a comprehensive mountain
development project during the Cold War. Ha was an SNU Kyujanggak Junior
Fellow (2022) and was recently named an Honorable Mention for the Marilyn
Blatt Young Fellowship at SHAFR.

provided to attendees. The presenter will also take questions in English in
the Q&A section.
