American Councils for International Education is seeking qualified Resident Directors to work in South Korea on the U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program. The program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students and is focused on the acquisition of Korean language and culture in an immersion setting. Programs are held from early June to August, 2024.

Resident Directors are the first-level of support for students for the duration of the program, and provide support to the students’ academic success, cultural adjustment, and health and safety. Resident Directors are expected to be on-call during the program and report to American Councils regularly, particularly if adjustment, health, or safety issues occur. This is a non-teaching position.

Competitive applicants will have demonstrated student support experience for undergraduate, graduate or high school students, or experience leading or supporting a study abroad or language immersion program in South Korea. Applicants must have advanced proficiency in Korean. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.
