The Nam Center for Korean Studies at the University of Michigan is
announcing the call for applications for the Michigan Korean Studies Summer
Institute, to be held in Ann Arbor from June 23-June 28, 2024. In this
one-week, residential intensive program, students will participate in
collaborative learning, collective thinking, and interdisciplinary
agenda-setting around a key critical issue central to Korean Studies. Two
leading scholars, Namhee Lee (UCLA) and Suzy Kim (Rutgers University), will
be joining students in residence and directing in-person seminars for this
year's participants.
The theme of this summer will be *Democracy and Gender*.
Applications for the Institute are open to graduate students at any level,
whose research concerns Korea. Preference will be given to students
pursuing a doctoral degree. Applications are currently open, and can be
submitted via this form
