Dear Dolores,

I haven't seen the series so I cannot comment on its accuracy, but I have translated one of the official histories that covers this period, the Koryosa choryo (Essentials of Koryo History): https://product.kyobobook.co.kr/detail/S000001058727 https://product.kyobobook.co.kr/detail/S000001058727
There you can find a quite detailed account of the events between 1010 and 1019.
A translation of the other official history, the Koryosa, is set to appear later this year: https://uhpress.hawaii.edu/title/koryosa-the-history-of-koryo-the-annals-of-the-kings-918-1095/ https://uhpress.hawaii.edu/title/koryosa-the-history-of-koryo-the-annals-of-the-kings-918-1095/
Since both these works are based on the same sources, there is virtually no difference in what they say about the war; the Koryosa choryo however has a more complete version; since the Koryosa is organized thematically, some important events are described in the biographies section, which is probably still a long way from being translated.
Hope this helps!

My name is Dolores Cruz and I currently have a podcast (https://open.spotify.com/show/6Mp5uNIcfXWTngGGKm2fj3 https://open.spotify.com/show/6Mp5uNIcfXWTngGGKm2fj3 or https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/loli49 https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/loli49) where I review korean dramas.  I am reviewing the drama Korea Khitan War which airs in KBS in Korea and streams on the Rakuten Viki app in the US.

I am trying to verify the accuracy of the second half of the drama and I'm having a hard time as the only source recommended to me was The History of Koryo Dynasty which is in classical chinese or korean translation and my reading of the korean language is just not good enough to research this text and I do not know Chinese. I was given this list as a place where I could reach out and see if there is anyone on here who may be able to help me. If you are knowledgeable or an expert on the Koryo period of Korean History I would appreciate your help.

Kind Regards,
Dolores Cruz (aka Loli)
