*Event Description*
In the wake of the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election, both the United States
and the Republic of Korea anticipate significant shifts in the political
landscape. While both nations remain committed to upholding the principles,
policies, and spirit established at Camp David, it is important to consider
the evolving perspectives on their bilateral relationship, as well as the
trajectory of trilateral alliances. Drawing on his extensive experience as
a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and long-serving member of the
National Assembly of Korea, former Minister Park Jin will share his
insights on the future of the U.S.-ROK alliance and the impact of the
election on bilateral relations and exchanges.

Founded in the year 2016, the GW Institute for Korean Studies (GWIKS) is a
university wide Institute housed in the Elliott School of International
Affairs at the George Washington University. The establishment of the GWIKS
in 2016 was made possible by a generous grant from the Academy of Korean
Studies (AKS). The mission of GWIKS is to consolidate, strengthen, and grow
the existing Korean studies program at GW, and more generally in the
greater D.C. area and beyond. The Institute enables and enhances productive
research and education relationships within GW, and among the many experts
throughout the region and the world.
