Dear Koreanstudies Community,

I am very happy to share the news of my recently published edited
book, *Tribute
to Nongak 2024: Costumes of the Korean Farmers’ Traditional Dance and Music
Groups*, with all of you.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Nongak's inclusion in UNESCO’s
Intangible Cultural Heritage list. To commemorate this milestone, I wanted
to celebrate not only the musical heritage of Nongak but also the vibrant
costumes that accompany these festive traditions.

The book is a photographic collection that highlights the costumes, hats,
and accessories of 13 Nongak communities across South Korea, showcasing
both traditional and contemporary attire. This publication represents a
collaborative effort, with special contributions from Prof. Heera Sin,
Donghwan Yun, and Shinwha Hong at the Jeonju-based Center for Intangible
Cultural Studies (CICS).

Beside the photo collection, the book also depicts and explain basic info
on Nongak costumes' names and characteristics in its "Short Visual
Dictionary" section.
