Hi Koreanists,
First, a huge THANK YOU to Cedarbough and others who have in the past
crowd-sourced upcoming talks in Korean studies so that we can all keep up
on each other's work! I'm excited to share that I've created an even easier
way to keep track of research in our fields.
It's called DropIn <http://justdropin.io>. It's more generally a platform
to amplify scholarship and better connect higher ed with a greater public
(and pay individual scholars for sharing their expertise!).
But for this group in particular, I wanted to highlight that we will have a
consolidated, searchable calendar of live stream events happening across
academia (and beyond). Soon, in order to find out what events are happening
in Korean Studies, all you will have to do is type "South Korea," "North
Korea," or your discipline(s) into the search bar and view the
comprehensive list of upcoming events! It's my hope this will take this
administrative burden off of us scholars, and at the same time, increase
attendance to these events.
The launch is planned for next month -- use the link above to sign up for
the waitlist and you'll receive an update when the time comes. If you'd
like to make sure you/your center's events make it on the calendar, please
reach out to me directly.
