The Department of History at Binghamton University (SUNY) invites
applications for the position of a tenure-track assistant professor in
Maritime/Global Asia, broadly defined to encompass East Asia, Central Asia,
South/Southeast Asia, and/or the Indian Ocean. We welcome candidates whose
research adopts transregional approaches, with possible focus on the
histories of environment, technology, medicine, or migration. Regional and
chronological specializations are open, but applicants must demonstrate
proficiency in at least one Asian language, and have research interests
