Samchully Hallyu Social Science Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The University of Oxford invites applications for the position of 
Samchully Hallyu Social Science Fellow, a three-year fixed-term post 
beginning in October 2026.

The Fellowship forms part of the Hallyu South Korean Studies Programme 
within the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA). The 
postholder will undertake research on the economic and social science 
dimensions of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), with particular emphasis on the 
contemporary Korean economy and the global economic impact of Korean 
cultural industries. There are plentiful opportunities to gain teaching 
experience.

The role will contribute to strengthening Oxford’s international 
leadership in interdisciplinary South Korean Studies. The post holder 
will work closely with the Director of the South Korean Hallyu Programme 
(Professor Jieun Kiaer) to support the development and success of the 
programme.
