Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Volume 9 of the *Korean Anthropology Review* is
now available online! Please see the table of contents below.
We are particularly excited to launch the new section, “Fieldwork in Korea:
Methods, Encounters & Reflections,” and the inaugural issue features
contributions from prominent Korean anthropologists such as Laurel Kendall
and Clark Sorensen.
All articles are available online at www.kanthroreview.com.
We are also currently accepting submissions for Volume 10, to be published
in November 2026. We welcome research articles as well as translations of
articles originally published in Korean. Submission details can be found
here: [http://www.kanthroreview.com/html/sub03.asp]
With best regards,

*Korean Anthropology Review (KAR)*
Published by the Department of Anthropology at Seoul National University,
*KAR* was founded in 2016 to publish English translations of notable
Korean-language anthropology articles and to foster dialogue between Korean
and global anthropological traditions. Volume 9 continues this mission by
featuring two author-funded translations of previously published
Korean-language journal articles, along with book reviews of
Korean-language scholarship, offering a direct window into current
anthropological research priorities in South Korea. At the same time, the
volume expands *KAR*’s scope to include original research and launches the
new section, “Fieldwork in Korea: Methods, Encounters & Reflections,” dedicated
to the situated practices of ethnographic research in and about Korea.
We hope this volume continues to contribute to the global commons of
anthropological knowledge by bringing Korean anthropological scholarship
into broader conversation.
