Walking the Edge of the Capital: Night Walking Along Hanyang Doseong
□ Schedule: July 30, 7–9 PM□ Language: Korean, English□ Tour Route: Hyehwamun Gate – Naksan section of Hanyang Doseong – Heunginjimun (Dongdaemun)
⚠️Wheelchair accessibility is limited along some sections of the city wall.
□ The Seoul City Wall (Hanyang Doseong) was more than a military fortification. As the boundary of the Joseon capital, it reflected the city's political order, defense strategy, and urban development for over five centuries. Today, its surviving walls continue to reveal how the capital was organized and protected.
Beginning at Hyehwamun Gate and following the Naksan section to Heunginjimun (Dongdaemun), this evening walk examines the wall's military, political, and historical significance. Through the surviving landscape, participants will explore how Seoul's capital space was constructed, defended, and transformed from the Joseon dynasty to the present.
