Korea Foundation Visiting Professorship at Leiden University

the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) and the Leiden
University Institute of Area Studies (LIAS) invite applications for a
visiting professorship in Korean Studies, with a specialization in the
Humanities or Social Science and a focus on modern and contemporary Korea.
Appointment will be for a minimum period of six months full-time between 1
September 2013 and 1 July 2014, and entail duties in research and teaching.
The call is open to scholars with a PhD at all career stages. Leiden
University aims to employ more women in areas where they are
underrepresented. Women are therefore especially invited to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities


   -

   Original research and dissemination of the results through appropriate
   channels.
   -

   Teaching and thesis supervision at the BA and MA levels, in Korean
   Studies, Asian Studies, International Studies, and/or other programmes and
   courses as required.

Requirements


   -

   A PhD in a relevant field.
   -

   A research agenda and a teaching portfolio that match the position
   profile.

Terms of Employment

The Korean Foundation Visiting Professorship will be funded directly
through the Korea Foundation, commensurate with Korean Foundation salary
ranges. The Professor and maximally one dependent will be provided with
housing and insurance by IIAS.
