My name is Jonathan Dennis and I am currently graduating with a BA in Art History & Film Studies at the University of Sydney, Australia. Over the past year I have studied with a department member of Asian Art History whom, after having written two papers on Korean Art for, is encouraging myself to pursue a Masters by Research with my specific interests in "Socialist Realist Painting in North Korean Art".
This brief introduction above summaries a paper I have worked on recently whereby I mention references to a particular North Korean Artist, Kil Chin-sop and the painting Lunch break in the fields.
Larger than this work alone, the discourse and scope which is particular to my interests of "Realism" and North Korean Art is specific, and I wondered if anyone knew of any current researchers working on this topic area?
I am working my way through the Academia links under "Korean Studies" and "North Korean Studies", but would also be keen to hear opinions if anyone is out there to discuss them with me?
Best,
Jonathan Dennis.
