Association of Korean Adoptees (AKA)

Over the last 50 years, approximately 200,000 children born in South
Korean were adopted into primarily Caucasian families in the U.S. and
Western Europe, two-thirds of them in the U.S. alone. This exhibition is
designed to increase awareness, educate, and encourage broader public
discussion of this largely unrecognized phenomenon of "silent migration."

AKA is a Southern California, non-profit, independent and secular group of
adult Korean-born transracial adoptees and their associates. Its mission
is to serve as a support group; educate about international transracial
Korean adoption; provide links to the Korean American and adoptive
communities; and promote networking among Korean adoptees.
