Dear Henry

I can only answer your first item. Indeed using a swappable hard disk with
a Korean operating system on one and an English on the other will solve a
lot of your problems with reading and writing Korea. You must be aware
however that between swapping you would have to reboot every time and using
data from one hard disk on the other is possible, but you will have to
migrate it every time to the other. So having to two operating systems with
two hard disks is like having two different computers. You could email data
to yourself without going through the tedious process of copying it from
one hard disk to the other.

I have no clue how to obtain the software, since you are on a different
continent, maybe someone else can help you with that. We are using (on
American 98) hangul 3.0b AND Unionway (fonts and program) hangul 3.0 b for
writing articles and making Korean Webpages, (my website is nowadays partly
in Korean as well). Unionway fonts to be able to read Korean on the
Internet, (with Netscape) and the Unionway program to write emails in
Korean. 99% of the time that works fine. With Hangul 3.0b it's possible to
use Korean and English at the same time. Actually it's one of the best word
processors I have ever seen, bilingual and with a lot of gadgets, other
programs came up with years later. Unionway gives that option too, but
often you have to switch off the program altogether if you want to write
Korean and English at the same time, since it does weird things with the
roman alphabet when switching between modes. So we write most of the times
English first, switch on the program and fill in the Korean afterwards. The
other way around is possible too, but then you will have to insert numbers
in the place where you want to insert English, (and you will see gibberish
if you switch off Unionway)
