Korea Foundation Scholarships for study at the University of Oxford

	Two scholarships, funded by the Korea Foundation, are offered
every year for students taking up a place to pursue a graduate degree at the
University of Oxford in the area of Korean Studies. One award, which will
be available for a student from a European Union country, will meet the
cost of University and college tuition fees but will not cover living
expenses. The other award, for a student from any country outside the
European Union, is expected to meet the cost of the University and college
tuition fees and to provide a grant towards living expenses. Korean
nationals are not normally eligible to apply.

	Priority will be given to candidates wishing to study for a Master
of Studies or Doctor of Philosophy degree in Korean language and history or
classical literature in the Faculty of Oriental Studies. Candidates
wishing to study in the areas of economics, politics, anthropology or
sociology may also be considered. The awards will be for one year in the
first instance but, subject to satisfactory progress, may be renewed for
up to two further years, depending on the duration of the degree course
for which the student is registered.

	The closing date for scholarship applications is 1 March
annually. It is expected that the decision on the award of the scholarship
will be announced by the end of March.
