Lectureship/Senior Lectureship in Korean Studies
Vacancy 99/96

The School of Oriental and African Studies invites applications for a post
in Korean Studies.  Scholars from all disciplines are welcome to apply, but
a specialisation in Korean literature may be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to both
undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, to provide supervision for
research students, and in particular to maintain a strong research and
publications profile.    Applicants should have completed a Doctoral
degree, and must be able to provide a proven publication record of
international excellence.  Relevant teaching experience is essential.   The
appointment will commence on 1 September 2000.

The Lectureship/Senior Lectureship in Korean Studies will be on Lecturer
scale A (=A317,238-=A322,579 p.a.) or Lecturer B scale (=A323,521-=A330,065 =
p.a.)
or the Senior Lecturer scale (=A331,563-35,670) depending on qualifications
and experience, plus London Allowance, currently =A32,134 p.a.  Membership o=
f
USS will be available.
