Asaph Young Chun, President of ISR and Senior Researcher at the US Census 
Bureau, Dept. of Commerce will present a briefing and slide show on the 
recent visit to North Korea of an ISR delegation.

This second delegation of "Reconciliation Ambassadors with Medicines" 
visited the DPRK from February 22 to February 29, 2000 to survey the 
distribution of medicines ISR  shipped to North Korea for sick children and 
pregnant women. The 3-member team, which included two Korean American 
doctors, was able to visit several medical facilities and to engage in 
face-to-face discussions with medical doctors and public health officials.

The Washington-based ISR is a non-profit, volunteer organization of 
professionals seeking to promote reconciliation where conflict exists by 
engaging in cultural, humanitarian, educational, scientific and religious 
research. ISR is a founding member of the InterAction DPR Korea Working 
Group, a consortium of international NGOs working in North Korea.

This program is co-sponsored by the National Association of Korean 
Americans (NAKA)-NY Chapter, and the Institute for Strategic 
Reconciliation, Inc. (ISR).


The program is free and open to the public. An informal reception will 
follow the presentation.
