The article by Bruce is now out as "Kijich'on Fiction" in _Nationalism and
the Construction of Korean Identity_, ed. by Hyung Il Pai and Tim
Tangherlini. The volume is part of the Korea Research Monograph series
from Berkeley's Institute of East Asian Studies. The article contains
several references to other sources on the topic.

Also of interest might be Hye-Sook Wang's "America Portrayed in the 1990's:
The New Face of Nationalism," which just appeared in Comparative Korean
Studies 5 (1999), 1-24.
