This discussion on the conceptualization of "homosexuals" is very 
interesting. I realize this comment goes beyond Korean scholarship, but
the 
point has been made that "homosexuality" as an orientation or activity
is a 
recent Western categorization. I feel that I should address the role of
the 
Native American "berdache" of the Great Plains cultures whose roles, 
historically have been that of being, sexually, males engendered in 
feminine roles. These men were considered homosexual in orientation, but 
they used a different term.
I may have missed one of the points that was discussed in formulating
this 
string. Please let me know if I am off base.

I would be interested to see if anyone has comparative information on
these 
topics of cross-cultural "homosexuality".
