Dear Colleagues,

The January meeting of the Chosenshi Kenkyukai will be held Saturday, 
January 26, from 1:30 pm.  This month's speakers, who will present in 
Japanese, are below.


Research Presentation:
Matsuzaki Yuuko.  "The Problem of the Vested Interests of Non-Japanese 
Foreign Capital during the 'Annexation' of Korea: The Japanese-American 
Diplomatic Negotiations of May-June 1908 Regarding the Issue of the 
American Capital-based Collbran and Bostwick's Kapsan Mine Concessions and 
the July 1908 Revision of the Korean Mining Industry Law"
          
Book Review:
Kawase Takaya.  Aono Masaaki, "Chousen nouson no minzoku shuukyou: 
Shokuminchi-ki no Tendoukyou - Kongou daidou o chuushin ni" (Tokyo: Shakai 
hyouronsha, 2001).


The meeting will be held at the Kanda campus of Senshuu University, in Room 
206, from 1:30 pm.  Senshuu University is near Kudanshita station (exit 5) 
and Jinbochou station (exit A2), and is a short walk from the used
bookstore district called Kanda or Jinbochou.
