Dear Robert,

The correct spelling of the name of the author of "Japanese Maple" should be
Daniele Pecorini.
(you will find his book also in the Harvard Korean Studies Bibliography)
In 1928 Pecorini published (in London) together with Tong Shu a famous book
about "Go".

During the Russo-Japanese war the European countries and the US sent many
diplomats to watch and inform about the ongoing war. Maybe Pecorini was one
of these observers.
