It took forever, but the US Library of Congress finally gave up and decided
to follow the rest of the world with Pinyin for Chinese in 2000.

I think it has to be pretty obvious that the world will follow the South¹s
system as long as it stays consistent for a very long time. Then again, I'm
still hoping the US gov't will convert to the metric system sometime this
millennium.
Also, I hope I'm not wrong and end up confusing things, but I really have to
wonder if the author being asked about is *Jeon* Gyeongnin rather than
Jeong.
