***POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT***
Assistant Professor in Korean Studies,
Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language
Intercultural Institute of California
The Intercultural Institute of California (IIC) in San Francisco invites
applications for a non-tenure-track, full-time assistant professor in Korean
Studies, specializing in the Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language (TKFL)
program. The initial term of the appointment is one year, beginning Fall of
2002, with possible renewals depending on satisfactory performance, the
needs of the institute and funding. The successful applicant is expected to
have substantive scholarly and administrative experiences in the Korean
language-teaching program. Duties and responsibilities include providing
leadership for the program, teaching the graduate students, and coordination
of sales and marketing efforts.
Qualifications: Ph.D/ Ed.D required; proficiency in both Korean and English;
knowledge and/or experience teaching online courses; demonstrated success in
curriculum development and contemporary language teaching methods.
