Dear All:

Just two brief notes:

(1) Please do NOT change the subject line for continuing threads.
Often people read these discussions later in our online archives, and
changing the subject line makes this very hard.

(2) As Rob already pointed out in a message on September 29, all
non-subscriber mail will be rejected.
The main reason for this policy is that we get over a 100, if not
200, SPAM messages daily, and we can't possibly open all to check if
the email address "loveyou at hotmail.com" belongs to Professor
so-and-so and if it's a serious mail or just SPAM. But in our mailing
list admin interface we do see if a message is from a subscriber or a
non-subscriber, and we have started to dump messages from
non-subscribers.
By the way, there is a new law (at least in California) that will
result in $1 Mill. fines for spammers:

Happy Holidays!
