[KS] Ku Sang 1919 - 2004

[Brother Anthony]

I think that members of the list may wish to know that the poet / writer Ku Sang died early
this (Tuesday) morning after being very sick for many months. Those in Seoul wishing to pay
their respects should go to the Funeral Parlor at Kangnam Songmo Hospital. The funeral Mass
will be at Myongdong Cathedral on Thursday at 10am. Having published three volumes of
translations of his work more than 10 years ago, I am especially grateful that I was able to
put the fourth volume ('Even the knots on quince trees...')into his hands in March, and receive
his smile. Tubes in the throat have prevented him speaking since last October. Another bit of
history gone. RIP
