SEARCH FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN KOREAN STUDIES
The Department of East Asian Languages & Civilizations seeks to fill
a tenure-track position in Korean Studies at the junior level. Candidates
must be trained and interested in textual studies in their research. They
should have native or near-native fluency in Korean. Period is open, with
specialization in humanistic studies broadly defined. Religious studies,
literature, intellectual, cultural, and social history, cultural geography, film,
art history, gender studies, and cultural studies are among the disciplines
and approaches we welcome. Scholars who combine another E. Asian
tradition are also warmly invited to apply. Ph.D. must be completed by
September of 2005. Send CV, three letters of recommendation, a dissertation
outline and completed chapter to: Chair, Korea Search, Department of East
Asian Languages and Civilizations, 1050 E. 59th St., 301 Wieboldt Hall,
Chicago, IL, 60637. Review of applications will begin January 1, 2005.
