The 45th Yonsei-KF Korean Studies Forum,

The Korean Studies Program and the Institute of Modern Korean Studies at the
Graduate School of International Studies, Yonsei University are pleased to
invite you to attend the 45th Yonsei-KF Korean Studies Forum, which will be held
on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at 6:00 pm at Room 702 of New Millennium Hall.
The speaker is Carl J. Xaxer, Assistant Professor of Cross-Cultural and
Regional Studies at the University of Copenhagen. His talk "Time to Leave the US
Behind? The EU and Inter-Korean Relation" will examine the role of
the EU on the Korean peninsula, both economic and politically, especially
focusing on the importance of the ASEM process in the development of a
nascent independent EU foreign policy in Asia, and on how the EU increasingly in
its support for the South Korean government's engagement policy toward North
Korea is opposing a US's hard-line stance towards solving the North Korea
issue.

The presention will be followed by a dinner reception. I hope
many will come to enjoy the presentation, the discussion, and the
reception.Contact Young-Gu Kang at 010-2385-8664 for further
inquiries.

Sincerely,

Hyuk-Rae Kim

Professor of Korean Studies
