Full Professorship in Korean Studies
Applications are invited for the tenured position of Full Professor of Korean Studies. The successful applicant will provide teaching and research in the said area, with emphasis on Korean society, politics, and history.

In line with article 100 of the Higher Education Act of the land of Berlin (Berliner Hochschulgesetz), a postdoctoral lecturing qualification (Habilitation) or comparable qualifications for a teaching career in higher education are required.

The successful candidate will have experience in practice-oriented education, in securing external funding, and in managing externally funded projects as well as international experience in teaching and research. Knowledge of an additional East Asian language would be desirable.

One focus of candidates’ teaching and research should be contemporary Korea, including its economic system.

The language of instruction will generally be German, but some courses may be offered in English. A non-German speaking appointee will be expected to be able to teach in German within two years.
