Dear colleagues,

please note the following conference. We are excited to have the Minister of Unification and important academics with us to discuss the role of Overseas Koreans for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The relation of Korean communities throughout the world with their home country and their role as a bridge between North and South Korea has always been a difficult, but important topic for peace on the Peninsula, as recent problems between pro-North and pro-South movements in Japan show. With the annual conference for Korean communities abroad Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea together with the Institute of Peace Affairs, Seoul, tries to strengthen their role. This year the conference takes place on August 28-29th in Cheju-Do.
