I think you would perhaps find something useful in the bibliography at the end of  "Rediscovering 
Manchuria: Sin Ch'aeho and the Politics of Territorial History in Korea" by Andre Schmid in  The Journal of 
Asian Studies, Vol. 56, No. 1. (Feb., 1997), pp. 26-46. This extremely interesting article is available 
online through JSTOR which your library surely subscribes to. You can find a link to it by doing a Google 
search for "Sin Ch'ae-Ho" +Taejonggyo.  The article stresses the originality of Sin's wish to include 
Manchuria within Korean space and the significance of Sin's vision of Tangun as originator of the Minjung 
but does not deal directly with your question.
