Dear Colleague,

Have you completed a DOCTORAL DISSERTATION in English, French, German, Russian or some other Western language that deals in any way with Korea and/or Koreans (including the overseas Korean communities)?

If you have, please make certain that it is accurately cited and described in "A Century of Doctoral Dissertations on Korea: An Annotated Bibliography of Studies in Western Languages, 1903-2000, with an Appendix of Dissertations Completed in 2001-2004".

An overview of this forthcoming reference work, prepared under the auspices of the Korea Foundation (Seoul), may be found on the Internet site of the Committee on Korean Studies of the Association for Asian Studies at http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~korea2/ The overview contains a number of representative bibliographical entries as well as an indication of the type of information that the bibliography seeks to provide for each and every entry.

Please send all e-mail correspondence to:

PLEASE INCLUDE "Dissertation of [your name]" IN THE SUBJECT LINE. This will minimize the possibility of your message being rejected as spam mail.

Correspondence by air mail should be sent to:

Please share this message with colleagues and former students who have written dissertations about Korea and encourage them to respond as well. If they are presently in Korea, please suggest that they use hotmail.com, yahoo.com, or the like as incoming e-mail from addresses ending in "kr" at times is rejected as spam mail.

Thank you very much for considering this request. Your timely response will be greatly appreciated!

With all best wishes,

Sincerely yours,
