Professorship in History & Philosophy of Science for Spring 2007 

 

1. Recruiting Field 

 

History & Philosophy of Science (* Special recruitment) 1 




- Applicants should meet all the following requirements: 

- Non-Korean national 

- Language of instruction: English 

- Doctorate must be from a non-Korean university 

 

2. Qualifications 

 

A. Applicants should have at least one year of research experience after obtaining PhD or equivalent degree. (Exceptions are noted in the table above.) 

B. Person hired must have proof of legal authority to work at a private university and must be willing to act in accordance with the general Christian principles espoused by Yonsei University. 

 

3. Required Documents 

 

A. Completed application form (prescribed form) x 2. 

B. Statement of religious background (prescribed form) x 1. 

* Application form and and Religious Background Statement form should be completed online at the University's homepage starting from October 12(Thu), and their printed hardcopies should be submitted with the following documents. 

C. Copies of diplomas and official transcripts (with GPAs) of undergraduate and graduate programs x 1. (for each institution attended.) 

D. List of research activities: papers, exhibitions and performances (including title, author(s), date of publication/exhibition/performance, journal title or place of exhibition /performance, and abstract) x 2. 

* Research activities must be listed in a prescribed form (available for download at our website) 

* List of representative research activities on a separate page x 1. 

E. Copies of all research work (papers or equivalent documentation for exhibitions and performances) for the past 4 years (after September, 2001) and doctoral dissertation x 1 each. 

F. Letter of recommendation by two professors or professionals in the same academic field in sealed and signed envelope (field of application and applicant's full name must be specified in the letter) x 1 each. 

 

4. Application Period 

 

Monday, October. 16, 2006 - Tuesday, October. 24, 2006 (10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) 

 

Applications may be submitted by mail but should arrive by the deadline. 

(Note: Late applications will not be considered, even if it is postage stamped before the deadline.) 

 

5. Distribution & Submission of Application Forms 

 

The application form and other information are available at http://www.yonsei.ac.kr/. 

 

All applications must be submitted directly to the office of the college or school concerned, not to the Office of Academic Affairs.

6. Notification 

 

Results of the hiring search for new faculty members will be posted on the University website after December 2006. (In addition, those who have been selected for the advertised positions will be notified by express mail and/or e-mail.) 

 

7. Return of Application Materials 

 

In principle, application materials will not be returned. 

 

8. Others 

 

A. We encourage applications from women and foreign nationals.
