Call for Papers: The 8th ISKS International Conference of Korean Studies

Dates: August 16-17, 2007

Venue: School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK

Languages: Korean, English

Organisers: International Society for Korean Studies (ISKS); Centre of
Korean Studies, SOAS, University of London; ISKS European Branch

The organising committee of the 8th ISKS International Conference of
Korean Studies announces a call for papers to all members of
International Society for Korean Studies (ISKS). The 8th ISKS
International Conference of Korean Studies will be held from August 16
(Thurs) to 17 (Fri), 2007 at School of Oriental and African Studies,
University of London, UK. The conference will provide scholars with an
opportunity to share ideas and the latest achievements in Korean
Studies. 


Sessions

     1. History 
     2. Literature 
     3. Philosophy / Religion 
     4. Art / Folklore 
     5. Linguistics 
     6. Sociology / Education 
     7. Politics 
     8. Economics 
     9. Science / Technology



Applications

Individual proposals for the designated topics should include a title
page, a one-page abstract, and a one-page CV. The title page needs to
include the following information: 

1. Title of the paper

2. Session in which the paper will be presented

3. Name(s) of the author(s)

4. Nationality

5. Department & Affiliation 

6. E-mail & Postal mail address

7. Phone & Fax number

Submissions will be accepted only electronically to info at isks.org no
later than Monday April 30, 2007 and receipt of submissions will be
acknowledged via e-mail within three working days. The abstracts will be
reviewed based on their content and suitability. Conference presenters
will be notified with detailed guidelines on Monday May 21, 2007 and
will be required to submit a full paper of 10-15 pages for conference
proceedings by July 14 (Fri.), 2007.

Registration Fee & Financial Support

The registration fee for the congress is 100 USD (30USD for students),
payable upon arrival. It will cover conference kit, refreshments, and
one copy of congress proceedings. The amount of financial support
available for accepted speakers will depend on fund-raising, and
successful applicants will be informed about it at later date.
