  ¡ï INVITATION¡ï

The Graduate School of Public Administration (GSPA) of Seoul National University is pleased to invite you to its 2007 first International Conference on ¡®Progress, Problems, Prospects of Governance and Evidence-Based Government of Asia,¡¯ to be held in Seoul National University, Seoul Korea, on 12 February 2007.

The Conference features two panels with 4 presentations from foreign scholars and 8 parallel panel sessions with 27 papers. Panelists and moderators are drawn from a variety of fields, including public policy, policy studies, and political science from all over the world including Korea, Australia, India, The People¡¯s Republic of Mongolia, The State of Nepal, Russia, Canada, United States of America, Germany, Japan, and People¡¯s Republic of China.

Nowadays, ¡®Governance¡¯ is one of the most hotly debated subjects in the field of public administration, receiving intense and close attention of scholars and practitioners alike all over the world. In this context, our Conference aims to bring together distinguished scholars within the Asian region and out and the faculty members and graduate students at GSPA with two purposes:

First, through this Conference we want to develop and strengthen our academic relationship with scholars invited from the region.
Second, we want to use this Conference as a main vehicle through which we can expose our GSPA graduate students to the rigor and strictness of international seminars and to aim high by providing them with abundant but invaluable opportunities to present their papers, if primitive, and get them thrilled and stimulated by receiving incisive criticism on their own ideas and presentations.

We hope you can join us and contribute to making this conference a professionally exciting and challenging day. We are especially grateful to foreign participants who made their long journey to Seoul from home.
