The Center for Korean Research at Columbia University presents two  
events: the New York premier of the film "Epitaph" (Gidam) by the  
Jeong Brothers, 8 PM Friday November 16, 2007, in Davis Auditorium,  
Columbia University, New York. The screening will be followed by a  
discussion with the directors.

"Korean Waves: An Interdisciplinary Workshop on Korean Popular Culture  
in East Asia and the World," featuring Richard Pena and Charles  
Armstrong (Columbia); Nancy Abelmann (University of Illinois); Kyung  
Hyun Kim (University of California - Irvine); Wondam Paik (Sungkonghoe  
University) and others. Saturday November 17, 2007, 9:30 AM to 8 PM in
