A Google search using the Korean name brings up the following 2 pieces of info. If you cannot read them, they say that the mine opened in 1937, closed in 1965, and was located near the summit of Naedong-san in Seonsu-myeon, Jinan-gun, North Jeolla Province about 50km to the south-east of Jeonju City (using the current Korean romanization). While the mine was in operation, the village of Eumsu-dong in Ma-ryeon-myeon, which lies directly to the east of Seonsu-myon, was renamed Gwang-san maeul (Mine Mountain village) but the old name was restored after the mine closed.

내동산 주변은 말과 연관된 지명과 길지가 많음을 알 수 있다. 우선 산세부터가 백마가 두 귀를 쫑긋 세운 말 모습인 마이산을 향해 내닫는 형상이다. 마령면 음수동은 목마른 말이 물을 먹는 갈마음수혈(渴馬飮水穴)로 산 아래에 중평저수지가 있어 기막힌 조화를 이룬다.    음수동은 1937년 동진광산이 들어서면서 광산(鑛山)마을이 형성돼 두 마을의 머리글자를 따서 광음(鑛飮)으로 개명됐으나 금과 은을 생산하던 광산이 폐광되자 옛 이름을 되찾았다.
