[KS] James Scarth Gale Translation Prize

Dear Colleagues,

This is a message to inform you that the Centre for the Study of Korea  
at the University of Toronto will again hold the James Scarth Gale  
translation prize competition (grand prize, $2500) for non-fiction  
translation.  Deadline for this year's submissions is September 1.  
Past winners have included Robin Fletcher (Australia) and John Frankl  
(Korea). The competition is for short pieces of non-fiction  
originating in Korea's long twentieth century. Graduate students are  
especially encouraged to apply. For more details please see the
