Some members of this list might wish to know that Professor Chung Chong-Wha, emeritus professor at Korea University, died suddenly on October 29. He was responsible for publishing several collections of Korean fiction in English at a time when extremely little was available, and deserves to be remembered as a forerunner. He and I were the co-translators of Yi Mun-Yol's novel "The Poet."
