"In this colloquium, top scholars in Korean studies will focus on the
history of medicine and mental health in Korea, especially in relation to
reproduction and childhood. Speakers will discuss how, in the Japanese
colonial period, biomedical research in Korea on reproduction and women's
health was conducted as a political tool for the empire; the role of the
media in the 20th and early 21st century in decreasing the stigma of mental
illness; and the growth of psychiatry, psychology, counseling, and cutting

"이번 콜로퀴엄에서는 한국의학 석학들이 한국의 출산과 유년기에 관련된 의학과 정신건강의 역사에 초점을 두고 강연을 한다. 여기에서 토론될
주제들은 일본식민지 시대 한국에서의 출산과 여성의 건강에 대한 생물의학 연구가 어떻게 제국주의자들에게 정치적 도구로 실행되었는가, 20
세기와 21세기 각종 언론이 정신질환의 치욕을 덜어주는데 한 역할, 그리고 한국의학의 정신과, 심리학과, 상담학과 인간의 행동에 대한
최첨단 연구의 발전이 토론된다."
