Dear friends and colleagues,
It's all too easy to miss articles about Korea
which appear in non-specialist publications.
One such, which should not be missed, is this:
Robert S Boynton, "North Korea’s Digital Underground"
The Atlantic April 2011.
It's available - freely, I think - at:
_http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/04/north-korea-8217-s-digi
tal-underground/8414/1/_
(http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/04/north-korea-8217-s-digital-underground/8414/1/)
This is the best account I've yet seen of who these people
are, what they are up to, and how and why they do it.
Such new media have excited some controversy.
For contrasting recent views on them, see eg
