As Ken Robinson noted, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, about six
years ago, experienced a flood. Our preservation specialist wrote in
response to your query:
I will be glad to try help her. Freezing wet books and papers has been
the standard treatment since the Arno flooded in Florence in the 1960s.
It prevents mold growth and buys time to dry materials.
Contact Lynn Davis (ldavis at hawaii.edu) if you need additional help.
