Members of this list residing in Korea might like to know of the following tours organized by the RASKB during August:

Sunday August 14: Anmyeon-do
Monday August 15: Liberation Day: Hyeonchung-Sa Shrine, Onyang Folk Museum, Independence Hall
Saturday August 20: Songni-san and Peopju-sa temple
Sunday August 28: Yeosu , Suncheon Bay , Seonam-Sa & Songgwang-Sa
Saturday Sept. 3: Korean Pottery & Porcelain in the Icheon Area
Sunday Sept. 4: Cheong-Pyong Lake

Further details are available from http://www.raskb.com/ or by emailing raskb at kornet.net

During the summer there are no lectures, the next lecture will be on Tuesday September 6 when Jacco Zwetsloot will speak on "Spy Hunting, Re-writing the Korean War and Sowing Fear of the World: North Korea has “manhwa” too!" This will be at Somerset Palace at 7:30pm.

I would like to remind list-members that the RASKB has a large stock of books about Korea which Amazon.com claims are out of print and unavailable. In particular, the news of the death of Richard Rutt might make someone want to read his 'Korean Works and Days' or 'Virtuous Women, to say nothing of his magnificent edition of Gale's History of the Korean People, all of which we have a very large number of copies of.

Brother Anthony
President, RASKB
