Following the very enlightening conversation about the treatment of the DPRK in the Western media that took place here, and which I followed with great interest, and in the wake of some articles about the DPRK in the Australian media that sparked my ire, I penned the following piece. It was printed in the world commentary section of yesterday's copy of "The Australian" newspaper. Some of you may recognise some of the arguments I made here about the 'knowability' of North Korea - my original acknowledgment of this forum that I included in the end credits were (perhaps unsurprisingly) scrubbed from the final copy, so I wanted to link to the article here and thank the Korean studies community for the ongoing and informative discussions that are had in this place.
