There is, I see, a lengthy article in http://english.ohmynews.com/ArticleView/article_view.asp?menu=A11100&no=240389&rel_no=1&back_url=  about the incident but it does not solve your question. At the start it reports the return of the refurbished vessel, but near the end it quotes Korean sources saying that the boat was completely destroyed, the remains melted down etc.

One question that needs clearing up is how a boat with a thick iron hull could have been set alight by fire boats drifting against its sides. This suggests to me that the Pyeongyang boat was not perhaps made of iron? ie Not the General Sherman???
