Job Summary

Fixed term for 12 months

You will work on a new research project: ‘Sun, Sea, Sand and Silicone: Aesthetic Surgery Tourism in the UK and Australia’ funded by the Economic and Social Research Council. This post is based in an interdisciplinary research centre dedicated to research in the broad field of gender, sexuality and the body. The Centre for Interdisciplinary Gender Studies (CIGS) has an excellent reputation nationally and internationally for the quality of its research.You will possess a doctorate in social and/or cultural studies, preferably in an area related to the study, and have experience of undertaking qualitative research, as well as a knowledge of and interest in intersectional analysis. You will be fluent in Korean. A desire and ability to develop as a researcher, excellent communication skills, including written and presentation skills, and a willingness to work as part of a team are essential. You will have experience of research and analysis using qualitative research methods, and preferably some experience of using NVivo and/ or visual methods. The post will involve significant travel away from Leeds to Korea as well as attendance at international conferences. Because of this a proven ability to conduct research in different national locations would be an advantage.
